The nearest open station at Balsicas

Quite when the old station closed is not known, but some signage is new and modern signaling equipment has been fitted. Also in its favour (of re-opening) is that the line itself is in use. It certainly has the potential to have more passengers now than when it was open. I, and a few other owners, have emailed RENFE enquiring as to its` future. No response yet. (Oct 08).

If opened, journey time to Murcia City would be about 20 minutes, Torre Pacheco 15 and Cartegena 30 minutes. Balsicas is not far its true but for a day/night out, a meal and drinks, getting the station open again would give a valuable alternative to driving for owners and renters alike. PRENSA@RENFE.ES

SUCINA VILLAGE BARS AND RESTAURANTS

Donde Ayer (bar) opens Monday to Saturday until late. Mostly Spanish clientel. Address:- Enrique Guillamon 22, Sucina. T.654 899 337

Franc-Louise, (bar) popular with both locals and British alike. Multiple TVs and again opens late. The cleanest bar in Europe -if you sit still too long you will be polished.

Rosario (restaurant and bar) which opens at lunch time and in the evening until 11pm. There is a small bar area separated from the restaurant. Two menus and also a menu of the day for around €8. Just up the road from Franc Louise. Address -Carretera Estación, s/n. 30590-Sucina

Plaza Bar (bar with food) is opposite the church and is a traditional Spanish bar with a small restaurant section at the back. Despite the outside appearance (!) its tiled interior is very clean & tidy. Spanish football on tv. A menu is in Spanish and English. Varying opening times.

El Mesón del Vino, (restaurant) is opposite the new developments. Address:-Camino de las Cercas, SUCINA Teléfono: 660 884 283 / 619 884 178

Arco (bar with food) on the square near the English supermarket and serves bar snacks and burgers/bocadillos as well as the usual drinks. Tapas available and sometimes free with drinks

Em`s Bistro (restaurant/bar) newly opened in the square.

There are five banks in Sucina. The Bank of Valencia has an exterior ATM with an English option on the screen. The others are Cajamar, Cajamurcia, CAM and Santander (agency)
